WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO GET PRODUCTS CERTIFIED?

CommFront products are strictly certified by SGS / TUV, which are the Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTLs) in North America (approved by OSHA - the Occupational Safety & Health Administration) and the Notified Bodies in European Union, the most meticulous and recognized certifying labs in the industry. This makes our products worry- and hassle-free for safety and compatibility as well as for interfacing to expensive, mission-critical devices. SGS and TUV have conducted the complicated and thorough EMC/EMI tests required for the safety certifications. Besides electrical safety aspects, CommFront electronic products are manufactured according to the RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC standards. RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive, this directive restricts the levels of Lead, Mercury, Cadmium and other hazardous materials products may contain. RoHS was first adopted by European Union and is now being implemented around the world to ensure products harm neither the environment nor human health. A typical design and testing cycle for a new product takes about 3 to 6 months, see the flow chart below:

The strict, rigorous and extensive product testing includes Radiation, Emissions and Immunity tests. This process is long and resource-consuming, but it is necessary to ensure that CommFront's products and designs strictly comply with the related safety regulations.
