The SPD-ETH-1 is a rugged, industrial-grade, 8-wire, 3-stage, passive Gigabit (10/100/1000M) Ethernet surge protector designed to safeguard sensitive network equipment from destructive voltage surges, spikes, and electrostatic discharges (ESD) on data lines. It features a robust 3-stage surge protection circuit consisting of Gas Discharge Tubes (GDT), protection resistors, and Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS) to deliver fast, heavy-duty clamping action. Connected in series right at the equipment input, the protector activates during a surge or remote lightning: the GDT ionizes to divert high-voltage energy to earth ground, while the TVS clamps any residual voltage to a safe level. This passive design requires no external power, its high-speed passive design fully supports non-PoE, PoE (15.4W), and PoE+ (30W) devices up to 1000Mbps. The SPD-ETH-1 comes with a dedicated cable lug for solid earth ground connections and can be mounted directly onto a standard 35mm DIN rail, making it the ideal protective shield for critical networking equipment in harsh industrial environments.
