The CVT-422-3 is a compact, rugged, industrial-grade, optically isolated, port-powered RS-232 to RS-422 converter. It can be used to convert any standard RS-232C port into a four-wire, full-duplex RS-422 port, and vice versa. This product operates within a temperature range of -40°F to 185°F (-40°C to 85°C) and features 600W surge protection and 15kV static protection, making it an ideal solution for harsh industrial applications. The 2,500V opto-isolation circuitry effectively protects your RS-232 devices from ground loops, transient surges, remote lightning, and spikes. The unit is efficiently powered directly from the RS-232 data line, and it requires no external power supply, software drivers, or flow control. The ALL-IN-ONE rugged terminal block is professionally designed to accommodate various installation requirements, including a selectable 120-ohm terminator and an optional 5VDC input, making the unit an ideal solution for all types of installations.
